Decided to take apart the intake system to see if there were any leaks and what not and i noticed how oily the air flow straightener screen was. I recently started using an ITG panel filter and heard good stuff about em. Now I'm thinking this might be my problem for pulling 4 running lean cel codes in the past month... About the same amount of time the filter has been in
I guess back to the old OEM filter. So for the experts does this sound like the most likely cause?
On a side note... I noticed a significant amount of oil buildup around the PCV valve on my rs4 y-pipe that has only been on for a couple months. A catch can looks like winner in my book.

what the tests say.
Ive found SAND in my intercooler (caught in the oil) using crappy foam media filters.

I wiped off the excess oil when I removed it from the bag as stated in the instructions... All I can say is WOW. This bothers me.

I ran an ITG cone for a while and had no problems but it made no diff in performance.
Just run a new/stock panel and you'll be fine.

basically the powerful sucking action
caused it to pool up to the top of the filter and all over the top half of the air box. Also with the filter sitting at an angle, gravity caused all the oil to pool to one side of the filter. Whatever didn't make it onto my MAF must have just leaked out the side. The ITG filters also FWIW don't seal up as good as they should. I had to bend mine a bit to get it to sit right.
