Curb weight reported in R&T was 3680 lbs (2000 S4's were ~3590ish). That's also 200 lbs. heavier than the curb weight of the TT 225 Roadster when it was introduced a few years ago. Talk about OINK.

Default Oh, and interestingly enough, the R&T article noted the DSG would not hold gears...

...the author wrote that numerous times it would upshift just before entering a turn requiring the driver to have to downshift in the middle of the turn to power out of the corner. What a PITA -- that's as bad as an ordinary automatic transmission.

Default Heist: makes me awfully proud of the 3,200 lb. V8 SLK55 w/retractable hardtop. Even giving 200 lbs

"credit" for AWD, the TT is way heavy compared. BTW, Merc is claiming an EU curb weight of 1540 kilos for SLK55 which inlcude 68 Kilo driver and 7 kilo of luggage - so 1465 kilos or 3,223 lbs.

Default the R32 is 3400 lbs

I drove one the other day, and having driven both the TT 3.2 and the R32, I'd *much* rather have the R32. It's cheaper, has better seats/steering wheel and the manual tranny in the R32 can handle more torque (mods!)

Still though, for a 2 door "coupe" neither car is light. Give me an Evo MR at 2900 lbs

Default How much did old-skool muscle cars weigh like Chevelles and Cudas? Cars are getting stupid heavy

nowadays. I mean the Mercedes CL and SL are obscenely heavy. Even the new GTO is close to 3,800 lbs.

Quick Reply: <OINK-OINK> The new TT 3.2 DSG Roadster is 100 lbs. heavier than a 2000 S4.
