Default ok, first real problem...help please

I just rotated my tires last week, and now how a bad wobble at about 30 mph...then small vibration up to about 70 where it begins shaking pretty good again, then diminishes by about 80.

i hope its just a wheel that is out of balance, and other thoughts on what to look for?

Default if it happened immediately after rotating tires, that would be my guess. you tightened the lugs

right? =)

Default do you feel the vibration in your steering? did you rotate yourself?

if you rotated yourself w/o a balance you may have moved an out-of-balance wheel from the rear to the front where it is more noticable esp through the steering. you may have also moved a bent wheel to the front.

I put the bad tire to rear, and no wobbling!

Default Same thing happened to me! Replace that tire!

I have Potenza RE960's FWIW. I found a slipped chord when rotating it on the lift one day. Just a tiny bulge in the tread, barely noticeable, and apparently from a small pothole, but I had a small vibration at certain speeds and my car pulled in one direction, so I put it on the rear. Problem fixed!

Then one day on the freeway at 80mph I heard a tap on the underside of the car near the back. Then a BANG! SMACK! Thumpthumpthumpthumpthump...

The tire literally shredded the outer tread off of itself and separated the outer wall. The tire stayed inflated the whole time though, and makes me wonder how these are 150 mph tires... Never buying stock potenzas again...
