Default OK Guys.... I discovered something tonite with driving on my HAWK HPS pads w/Big Reds...

noticed if you get the brakes hot from constant hard stop and go's and drive the car and low speeds and use light braking they squeal a little. after you drive the car for a while and cool the brakes off they don't squeal at low speeds and light braking. i dunno why heat would do that to make it squeal. Anyone know? I also put a liberal, not light amount of Permatex Brake Silicon on the carriers and the edges of the pad that touches the carriers, so i know the noise has got to be coming from the pads now. Besides that the brakes are freakin insanely awesome at highway speeds. by the way i have ecs slotted A8L rotors. anyone know if this is correct or what should i do to fix the noise?

Default It's nothing! it's heat dissapation and the very slight glazing that occurs

it goes away and will NOT effect your performance.

it's normal.

I have had a set of Hawk HPS Streets and love them.

I now run the Axxis Deluxe (ultra low dust) and they are by far and away the best & the 65 dollar price tag didn't hurt either!

Default None, I love em. i've spent a LOT of time on the phone with Matt from Stoptech

a and although I've only JUST bedded in the pads, they are great. nice bite, Almost 0 dust, which makes cleaning the fikse's just a wee bit easier and seemingly no downside.

just my .02.

lemme know if you have any other questions.

Default Last set of Hawk pads I heard were pretty noisy...

sounded like a school bus (fast taxi on this forum). I think he had the HPS Plus pads though...a little more aggressive than yours I think.
