Can't connect to either the engine controller or the ABS controller. While I was typing this, ABS light went off and I can connect to the ECU again.

So this looks like the ABS controller is messed up. Could this indicate a problem with the brake pedal position sensor or is the only solution to replace the ABS controller?

A completely dead ABS module will turn on the ABS lamp in the cluster.

Default The ABS light in the cluster is on. The parking brake light blinks. Problem is consistent but

intermittent. So the ABS and Brake lights will go on, sometimes stay on until the car is turned off, sometimes they go off on their own after a few seconds.

Doesn't appear to be related to braking, it can happen while just driving.

Default ABS controller is toast.

I had the same symptoms. When it dies, the VAG can't talk to it. If you remove.disconnect it, the VAG will work again. If you're doing this outside of warranty, expect to pay about $1000 installed.

Default Anyplace to get a controller cheaper? Or other recourse, car only has 32k miles on it

seems a little ridiculous to have to pay for something like this
