ok, i have a sqeak from my engine, seems to be coming from behind the fan.

ok, i have a sqeak from my engine, seems to be coming from behind the fan.
the belt driven fan not the electric, on the drivers side of the car, sounds like a water pump. but it really is only there upon start-up in the morning when cold, any ideas?
is this where the water pump is?...
also a slight smell of hot plastic...
no smell of coolant nor ant left under the car,
thanks, just trying to get an idea before tear down,
also any special tools needed for a water pump on our cars?
is it tied into the timing belt?
