Default OK, I STFA using the keyword "kettle" but the so-called "kettle sound" is quite different than

the "kettle sound" I have in my car. It sounds like tea kettle sound with a little lower pitch and I think it comes from the passenger side. I don't hear this sound until I get into higer gears, i.e. the 5th and 6th. In lower gears, I don't hear this sound at all in any condition. I don't hear this sound in the 5th gear all the time either but in the 6th gear, I can reproduce this sound all the time when I cruise. Let's say I'm cruising at 65 mph and I'm still in vacuum and I hear it. I go up to 70 mph and it goes away. I accelerate a little more and it comes back. I accelerate a little more and it goes away. It's not very loud but it's quite annoying because it only happens when I want to just relax and cruise on the highway. When I go WOT even in the 6th gear, I don't hear it and when I let off the gas, it goes right away, so I don't think it's gear whining. So I'm thinking more likely it's coming from the exhaust side, possible cat, rather than the turbos? Can a bad cat make this kind of kettle sound? I'm asking this because I have had the DTC "16805 - Warm Up Catalyst: Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold P0421 - 35-00 - -" for a while. Has anyone had this sort of situation in their cars?

Default Hmm, I get a constant "whine" at 65 MPH, but I don't think it's what your talkin' about.

Only happens at 65 MPH, not 64, not 66, but just 65. So wierd...Doesn't matter which gear I'm in either...

Default I had mine replaced around 20k something? 96k now.

Noise came back shortly after the first post replacement snow.

Seems quieter/quiet if it's really hot. There sometimes others not. Original diff did it around 60mph. I don't even worry about it or really notice it anymore. I don't recall it happening at all on my May trip to cali.
