OK, it's time to upgrade my cell phone, and of course I want to integrate it into my car...
So, which one should I get in terms of compatibility with our bose system? I was thinking about getting Nokia 8260. I can get a good deal on it at my job. Will it be compatible or should I look for other phone instead? Also what kit is the best, and easiest to install.
Any info is appreciated!

it's awesome. for some pics, check out www.BlackS4.com and click on "Handsfree Nokia". I decided to do it myself as who knows when Ed's kit will be available.

Nice pics! Do you have any walkthrough on install?
Is it using built in mics and speakers and auto muting your radio when in use?
I'm not too savvy in electronics. But did the "fog light" mod with soldering all by myself so I think that I should be OK installing the phone kit.

it uses the built-in speaker in the drivers door, and does mute the stereo when a call comes in but
you need to strip and solder very small wires. you have to switch the factory Audi microphone w/ the one from the kit. the hardest part was soldering the 8 wires to the pins in the db-25 connector. what a bitch!!! it can be done w/ patience. Everything cost me around $260 total for everything:
$135 for the kit delivered
$50 for the Terk 903 antenna (local)
$35 for the bracket (Zev)
$18 for a 6' straight-through db-25 male/male cable (Computer City)
$18 for an antenna extension cable (online)
$5 for the db-25 connector and loom tubing (local)

Audi is supposed to be coming out with a kit.
It's in the latest catalog, with a brief description and availability in 2002. I called them and they said the check back end of Feb/early march for an update.
I am hoping that this kit will eliminate the need for any wiring work etc.. on my part.

Where'd you get the Smarteq Kit?
Direct from Smarteq USA? I blew up the speaker in my $59.99 CCM Handsfree, and am looking for a better "integration"..saw they have one for my 8290..just need to find it!
