It's really easy. They will peel back with out getting screwed up. They are foil, not paper.

Default Ummm... who's warranty? It was opened by whoever did the chipping so Audi didn't put the sticker on.

How are you going to use a warranty if you don't know who its through? :P

Dunno what chip tuner puts a "warranty void if removed sticker" on their ECUs. Some kind of sick joke?

Default Well, I'd hate to send my chip in for an update (if it turns out to be an old APR/GIAC) and be told

I can't because I voided the chip warranty

I bet there is a paper sticker on the chip itself with something like "1C" written on it.

Default Well, I doubt its APR. I've seen a few APR ECUs. No sticker like that.

Not sure what kind of a warranty you'd have on a used (or really any) chipped ECU. Certainly if the chip itself fails, some warranty might come into play, but that seems pretty unlikely. If the ECU fails, you are SOL from pretty much any tuner.

Some GIAC sockets have failed, IIRC. That's about the only chip failure I can think of.
