Default Ok, looking for some hard numbers: AWE RSK04 vs. Homebrew

I've been doing a lot of searching lately as I am planning on pulling my engine this month for my K04 install and stage 3+ project. The STFA i full of posts stating that homebrew kits produce more power than the AWE RSK04 kit. None have hard numbers though. So...

Can anyone give me a hard number comparison of horsepower/torque figures for these:

1. AWE RSK04 Fueling Kit (without manifolds)
2. Homebrew (ABox, Straight K04's, Green Giant Injectors, VAST RS4 MAF)

Thanks.

Default It's all in the tweaking. But not using the stepped MAF is a plus. "I beleive" your tweaking

becomes easier. with a Jacob or ASP type MAF and I would probably look at some of the better injector choices now available.

And those rims look good on your car

Default Here is a pretty good comparo...

ABox GIAC K03 X
-1.5 Degrees Timing
96 Oct
20PSI
RS4 MAF
Greentop Injectors
Plane Jane K04s
Piggie DPs w/ No Cats
Miltek Single 3"
Open Element Intake

November 2005
71F
Netted Me:
12.21 @ 117.8 with a 1.98 60'
12.26 @ 117.1 with a 2.0 60'
12.3x @ 116.x with a 2.0 60'
12.45 @ 116.x with a 2.1 60'

The Mbox AWE Setups I have seen lately are trapping about 115 on race gas at best, that were around my weight. I weighed in last month (same setup as track) at 3510 BONE DRY on a Dot approved scale.

Bang for the buck I would go homebrew. Shimon would help you out with whatever questions you ever have. Piece of mind I would go ASP. I wouldnt think of going with AWE over either of teh two.

Choice #1 - Homebrew
Choice #2 - ASP

That is if you like tweaking though.

Default While I fully recommend ASP, it's also what's closest to you. If a local shop

sells, installs, and supports the AWE kit, that might be a good way to go, too. I know AWE is in Pennsylvania (right?), so they would do a bang-up job for you. Although, ASP isnt' too far away...

FWIW people on the ASP K04 kit trap ~114-115 on 93 octane
