Ok, looking for some hard numbers: AWE RSK04 vs. Homebrew

that is reliable. The nice thing about AWE (GIAC) is that Jeff Moss lives 15 minutes from me and is a super guy for trouble shooting. Also Wicked Motorsports is local so I have many people willing to work on the car and stuff like that.
So basically I would love to have the most bang for my buck, but at the same time I was support and service if isht goes wrong, and it does.
GIAC is very-very reputable and I've been happy so far.

another factor is that i don't think the ASP K04 kit has been tuned to 91. Tuning it onto 91 is a whole diff ballgame than 93/94. GIAC/AWE is tuned on 91.....running 20 lbs max boost falling to 18ish. ASP i believe runs 22 lbs and tapering

there are a lot of things that contribute to that final number. They're useful, but I'd be more interested in seeing logs, preferably with ECUx, showing things like boost, timing, O2V, KV's for the full range 2500-7000 rpm, in a couple of gears.
I believe Autospeed made a post about the tuning process a couple of weeks ago that was fairly insightful. As you've found out, you can make power by tweaking with lemmiwinks, but a thorough software tune like Garret, or the others do, is going to extract power more efficiently and be healthier for the engine in the long run, in my opinion.

there are many variables. Doing Stage 3 is not an exact science since there are so any diff variables that will determine the power numbers and how fast a car is. You have AWE cars that are fast...but then again, you will have another one that isn't. Just like you could build a Homebrew car is is or isn't. Point is...some cars take to mods better than others, and some are just plain faster. That being said...a Homebrew car will generally be faster since you are tuning the car to hit a certain boost and remain there as opposed to a kit that has the N75 and software controlling that. If you look at comparable dyno numbers from AWE's Dyno day last Dec.....Homebrew K04 cars were putting anywhere from 330-360 whp as were Kit cars (AWE, Dahlback, etc.) I believe KOpork did put down 398 whp or something along those lines with his Piggie/Vast Homebrew setup on racegas. What it should come down to is A) do you like tunning/logging/and constantly messing around with your car. Or do you want a plug and play solution? As far as plug and play...AWE, ASP, APR are ALL GOOD choices...they are all within the same range of each other. Not one kit is better imho.
