OK: Toyo Proxes T1-S or Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position...

Both turn in lap times within 1 second of each other at the track on the same car with the same driver.
For everyday street driving, the Toyo is much nicer. Smoother and generally quieter on a wider variety of rough surfaces. It will hum contstantly though. On the track the turn-in is slightly slower than the S-03, but once a set has been taken the feedback is better, and grip is easy to modulate. Resistance to tramlining is fairly good even when worn.
The S-03 feels more overtly sporty due to a stiffer sidewall. Especially at lower speeds. If you never really push the car, these tires will be more "fun". On good pavement they are quiet, but have definite thumping and twanging over rough surfaces. At the limit the grip is very good with a nice break-away, but feedback can sometimes be a little muddy compared to the Toyo.
We don't have too much chance to drive in the rain, but on the wet skidpad both tires are very comparable.
Remember though that we runn sub-3000 cars, so a stiffer sidewall if you plan to run hard often, might be the way to go on a heavier car.

when you fight the steering wheel to keep straight driving on I-5 or when the wheel is wrenched from your hands at a slow stop that I tried to steer you away from S-03's.
Even I-90 eastbound going down the hill into Issaquah with the minor ruts ground into the pavement will **** you off.
They pissed me off last week.
I've not driven the Toyos but I'd bet you would be happier driving around the Puget Sound area.

... from many users are in the link below. From what I recall, the T1-S are grippy and good value, but if you like crisp turn-in, then the stiff sidewalls of the S-03 (my tires) would be for you. T1-S are most recommended on lighter cars.

http://www.netwiz.net/~jds/files/a6_links.html#tires</a

Tirerack doesn't carry them and I ended up getting wheels there; thought it would be easier to just get everything done at once.
