Default don't bother, TAKE THE TBB off completely AND take off all the clamps.....

The tear is usually under one of the clamps (more often the largest one closest to the throttle body)...

also, do you have an F-hose - check that too.

Default Good call: A TBB leak can cause those kinds of problems. His description seems a bit extreme ...

though.

I'd just replace it proactively anyhow, It's $11 or something silly.

This happened to me after replacing my TBB. Turns out, clamps weren't tight enough.

Default Boost (requested & actual), Throttle plate Angle & throttle pedal position

those would be the first things I'd look at to see if boost is meeting it's desired values, and to see if the throttle angle is following what the pedal is telling it to do.

Here's what you might see from the above - these are two separate graphs from different cars/logs, but just wanted to illustrate what you might see...

Actual boost is meeting requested:

showing throttle cut - throttle plate is doing different than pedal says to do:

Default RPM's go back to idle? Doesn't sound like a TBB then.

I'd liken a TBB problem to a momentary stumble.

Default Just got an e-mail from other post... says his CAT was bad..

He had a A4 though, but he e-mailed and told me he solved his problem by changing his CAT. It was falling apart and was messing with his o2 sensor...

Does that sound reasonable? Anyway to check Cats besides dropping them?

Hope you're not using stock clamps with the Samco. They are too big for the intercooler pipes.
