try to find one with REALLY fine teeth.
the whole saw tends to wanna move.
basically, the only advice is not to screw up..
because you can't buy one new vent, you have to
buy the vent cluster, and that's about $90
from clairparts. I can't remember the size
of the wholesaw, but any of the guys at home
depot should be able to help.. just take the
vent and the gauge there and show em what you
want to do.

I made the plate by sandwiching a bunch of pieces of clear acrylic sheets together and gluing them with plastic glue (Loctite Plastix -- I think it was basically superglue with a small bottle of surface prep stuff). The resulting block was about ~3/4" thick.
I rounded the top and bottom edges with a file to match the contours of the vent and drilled a 60 mm hole through the piece. Then I primed and painted it.
I used friction tape and press-fit the gauge into the plate and the plate into the vent space. Everything fits pretty snuggly.
