Once more around the park...

Only see one other Audi (a Canadian A4) entered this year. Motor Trend has signed on to do the coverage... C&D is out.
Testing the car at High Plains Raceway this Friday, and I'll post progress once the event begins on May 2nd.

Spent this past Friday shaking the car down at High Plains Raceway… very promising! The new StopTechs are amazing, power delivery is much stronger and linear with the new heads, and the handling is dead-nuts on. Spent a few laps chasing a 944 Turbo with 305 Hoosiers and a driving instructor behind the wheel… and stayed right on his back bumper. Considering we were on 225 street tires… I think we’re in pretty good shape. Dennis and Rob from Champagne Motors did an outstanding job on set-up, and both were on-hand (along with Larry) to make the final adjustments.
So far… there are only 5 other cars in our class this year. One SRT-8 Magnum, two new M3s, an E39 M5, and a new Cadillac CTS-V. Rumor has it that Hennessey may bring one of his 650hp CTS-V-Rs at the last minute… guess we’ll find out this Friday.
More to come towards the end of the week…

Great progressive updates... huh!
The 2009 One Lap of America just wrapped up here in South Bend, IN at the Tire Rack headquarters. We managed to bring the S4 home 1st in class, and 8th overall. Great battles in Luxury Sedan class the entire time... we were surounded by BMWs. First an M3, then another, then an M5 coming on strong. Wound up tied in points with the M5, but the tie breaker is the sum total of all track time. Very tight!!!
Great event, and great route this year... including Sebring and Daytona. Running the ALMS configuration at Daytona was worth the price of admition! The banking makes for quite a ride!

Thanks... much appreciated!
We found a small leak in the left intercooler after the first run at Sebring. Unfortunately, there simply wasn't time to repair it between events, and we couldn't find a replacement intercooler anywhere in the area. That put us down a bit on power for the rest of the week... and something finally let go on the last lap, of the last session, on the last day. No more boost!
On the up side... the car still ran okay, and had enough beans to get around the skid pad the following day.
The car is now at Champagne in CO, so Dennis and Rob will dig into it to find out how bad it is.
