Default Depends if you can deal with vibration

I have RS4 MM and ASP transmission mounts. The tranny mounts added a decent amount of vibration. Nothing I can't live with, but it is noticable. Passangers generally can't feel the vibration unless their leg is on the trans tunnel or something. But the driver can really feel the vibration through the steering wheel, shifter, dead pedal and gas/brake/clutch pedals. The trans mounts really improved shifting though (although before them I had busted stockers so I don't have much to compare them too). The trans basically doesn't move at all now. I love it.

If they are right for you really depends on you. Can you deal with giving up some luxury for more performance? I'm not gonna lie, the vibration is noticable, and there is some gear whine. Any loose change in the car rattles as well. But the improvement in shifting is also very noticable.

Default when does it vibrate? all the time? i have the opposite. RS4 tranny mounts & Stasis MM and

there's only a little more at idle and low RPMs (i.e. only in 1st gear accelerating) while virtually eliminating slop.

Default I have Stasis motor mounts and don't notice any vibration....

there's a lot more noise/vibration going on from having a modified exhaust and suspension....and aggressive street tires.

Default It's RPM and gear dependant

Some gears vibrate more at certain rpms than others. 5th and 6th don't have much virbration but 1st 2nd and 3rd have significantly more. No real vibration at idle though, only while moving. But that makes sense. I may go with ASP engine mounts at some point too. Figure I already have vibration, what's a little more ;-)

Out of curiosity, did the engine mounts get rid of the low speed (real light throttle in first) engine bucking? Not sure if you know what I mean, but I can still feel my engine rocking while slowly cruising in first, even with my mounts, a TSB and a snub :-/

Default i know wnat you mean and

the low speed bucking is *greatly* reduced, but not completely eliminated.

truth be told, if i didn't have the history of the engine bucking, i probably wouldn't give it a second thought, but knowing the slop that was there previously, i feel it. i've pointed it out to my g/f and she's like "you seem a bit OCD about this car" . . . ;^)

Default Yea, mines definitely better than stock, but it's still there and still bothers me

I think all of us AWers have gotten the "OCD" comment from the opposite sex at one time or another :-p
