Opinions on use of "1552 Design" 993 wheels with spacers?

I privately solicited and received advice on this from one of the prominent wheel manufacturers that participates in this forum. I regard that advice as knowledgeable and professional, and I sincerely respect and appreciate it.
Nevertheless, after exchanging a couple of e-mails with 1552 Design, I am hesitant to rule out these wheels. According to the information that I received, in order to fully duplicate the appearance of the Porsche wheel, they use the Porsche bolt spacing, so an adapter is required. The adapter is 20mm thick (almost .8 inches). The wheel has a 52mm offset, but with the 20mm spacer, the equivalent offset would be 32mm. According to the information that I received, the result is that the wheel is located almost identical to the stock.
Does anyone know of any specific disadvantages of this arrangement? Are these spacers in general not a good idea? Clearly the spacer itself will bolt on in a "hub-centric" fashion, and I assume that the wheel will similarly bolt on in a "hub-centric" fashion.
Thoughts? Opinions? Flames?

I went and read the previous discussion of this, and it is very clear that it was about the use of spacers that have holes where the bolts go. I agree completely, bad idea unless bolts are strengthed, are on completely (duh!), etc.
I guess I should have said "adapter". It doesn't just move the wheel, it changes the bolt spacing. I haven't actually seen the adapter, but I assume that it must have integrated bolts at the Porsche spacing.
