Greetings -
Suggestions for optimal detector placment? 8 inches above the dashboard (instrument panel) seems to work fine but the power cord gets in the way.
Thanks,
Josh

That way it's out of the way, but I can reach it to mute it (didn't need the remote display). No visible wires as I ran the wire around the windshield and to the fuse box.

Below any tinit on the windshield.. you give up the rear protection..
I put the remote mute button/hardwire box just above the foglight switch on that little ledge, with the provided velcro. The wires easily conform to the split in the dash, and run across above the drivers legs to the fuse panel, and the data cable to the detector, up the driverside a pillar and across the top of the windshield.
Total install time 1 hr.

I used the suction cup mount, took the suction cups off and stuck it to the windshield with double sided tape. That way, you can take the detector off when you are parked.
If you place it just right, you can still use your visor and not interfere with the rear view mirror. Also, you can still get your finger in to press the button to release the detector from the mount.

But it may affect laser. However, laser is of dubious value anyways, and it's not that commonly used where I live (Massachusetts). If laser gets a lot more popular, I'd invest in a laser jammer.
