I found the secret formula for Chris Bangle's hideous design direction
It's not "flame surfacing" ..... it's pretending the car is a blimp with wireframe skeleton structure underneath, then letting some of the air out of the balloon... just look at how the sheetmetal "skin" sags around the door frames, etc. Add other ugly features, and this pretty much sums up the new BMW look. And I thought Honda had the worst taillights (Accord????).
