Default Yeah...I just checked the Sept 97 forum.....brings back memories...

BTW, where the heck to people go when they stop reading and posting on the forums?...I know some still lurk occasionally.

In particular...what happened to :

1) Ricardo David (started Wett NA with Stephen Pitts)
2) Stephen Pitts (started Wetterauer NA)
3) Rick Pitts (rickp) - (brother of Stephen Pitts - crashed his S6)
4) Bill Gotro
5) Josh Pinkert (Porsche 911T owner as well as A4)
6) Josh Kurz (one of the first to really modify his 97 A4)
7) Robert Jordan
8) Rich Quinlan (more mods than you can shake a wastegate rod at)
9) Chris Hlubb
10) Dale Kirstein (96 A4 owner in Auburn Red)
11) and many many more...whose names escape me right now...

The old timers I still see here from time to time are...oh..and here is a comment
or two about them....

1) Corey Smith (the trailblazer in Autocrossing the S4, and one of many in the A4)
2) Sharon Levy (a cool chick and a good friend...she can haul *** too)
3) Bob Petruska (research..bob is good at it..many FAQs written by Bob)
4) Graham Mahoney (although he has a TT now, he was our first friend in OZ)
5) Sean Griffin (2nd A4 now...survived a nice crash...good friend...)
6) CraigB (sorry Craig...I have a real hard time spelling that last name of yours)
7) Will Allen (A4...M3...S4...what's next Will?)
8) Steve Olsen (A4 #2...famous for being in the Boston Paper with his ice crash)
9) John Walsh (TSR - our resident racer...sometimes drives his A4..good advice)
10) Warren **** (another convert from A4 to S4...similar experiences)
11) Warren Yang ( finally got him to chip...sheesh..took 2+ years... :-)
12) Andrew Lee (aka Another Drew...another A4 to S4 convert)
13) Donnie Lee (Pacific NW trailblazer....another A4 to S4 convert...mr mod)
14) Andy Hedin (cleanest A4 on the planet...good photographer also)
15) Rick Snyder (lets see...A4 Avant..S4...A4 Avant...S4 Avant coming)
16) Reggie Short (least amount of mileage on a 98 A4...I think he is up to 13K)
17) Christian Long (8 Audis...and still going strong...how is Breeze?)
18) Don Pavlic (what can I say...audizone website...awesome...another A4 to S4)
19) Oscar Ramirez (loves Audis so much...selling them now...A4 to S4 convert)
20) Jason Palmer (around forever...I hear he is a great A4 1.8T driver on track)
21) Chris Cieurzo (ole Doc...fellow A4 2.8 12V owner...converted to S4)
22) Gary Bossert (ex-BMW E30 M3 race driver..converted to S4...nice helpful guy)
23) Eric Harleq (experience autocrosser from Montana..they have Audis there?)
24) Robert Overcash (our resident spy...takes spy photos in Arizona and Colorado)
25) Cathleen Stoeckel (just how many mods can you do to a 2.8 12V car?)

I wonder if people sold their A4s or just don't have time for the forums anymore.
Or, their wives/husbands told them "its the forums...or me...take your pick?".

The purpose of this post?...I just wanted you new folks to know that there are a lot of very cool people here...that know a lot about Audis...the quattro drivetrain...worthwhile and not-so-worthwhile modifications...good dealers/bad dealers...and life in general.

Default Yo, I used to take a peek here awhile back too.

Now that I'm in the market for an S4

While the board has sure matured from the old A4.org days, some (just some) of the participents (recent additions) haven't kept up. Maybe 2 1/2 years makes a difference? Anyway good to see you around...btw hows that Profec holding up?

Default Yeah, I know where some of them are...

... Ricardo David was still in Chicago the last I saw him (last winter), still running the Wett K04 setup with the ashtray integral boost gauge that everyone praised on the A4 forum (but that no one bought?) Rick Pitts is still around, lurks, emails people now and then. Rich Quinlan emailed me awhile back about helicopter stuff, but didn't mention his A4... maybe it's been sold? Beautiful car, rare color, sorry I never got to see it in person.

I think many of the older posters don't have time to post anymore or, as I know happened in a couple cases, their IT professions have taken them overseas and they've sold their US-spec Audis. Did they buy A3's abroad? Who knows.

Josh Kurz is someone I should have kept in touch with as one of the few other heavy-mod '97 1.8T owners... never kept it up though. Josh, if you're reading, email me.

Anyway, that's it for me. Then again, by Steve's standards, I'm a "latecomer" to the forum ;-)

We need a "how many posts have I made in my time on the forum" tally one of these days as a humorous post when Jason feels like writing yet another funny search tool. How long ago was it that he posted that the 9th most-searched-for item was K04? Ah, the good old days.

And yes, I still remember when we only had one forum and I was a JET A4 Page lurker.
