Default Outboard, suction cup camera mounts. Does anyone sell them, or is it a DIY thing?

I remember someone (Jyoteen maybe?) fabbing one up a few years ago, and I think it would lead to some sweet footage if positioned low and behind the front wheel, off the rear corner, etc. Anyway, is something like that crazy expensive, is it DIY only, etc.? Basically, if anyone has thoughts on this, I'd appreciate hearing them. I think it would be a fun thing to do for the 2006 track season. In-car footage is nice, but outboard seems to much cooler.

Default Hey Matt, check these videos out and tell me if these are the types of shots

you're looking for...

If so I can talk to my friend who made them and see how he built the cups...

You might be interested in this for a full camera or one of their other offerings for lipstick lens...

Sweet - not even very expensive! That might be the winner. How do you like it?

Default Love it! Can't be beat for the price, flexibility of mounting, etc

did you check out the video on my website? That was just after I bought it. I honestly haven't used it much since, but only because I haven't driven my car much. I'll be sure to put it to use again one of these days - maybe when the Golf gets a turbo and I compare to an S4 on a highway pull )

Default Just be aware, the heavier the gear you strap to it, the more you'll spend for

something that can stabilize the weight of the camera gear. For P&S cams and mini-DV camcorders, that mount looks great. A dSLR might present a challenge for it though.

I only have a small miniDV recorder now, anyway. Weight shouldn't be an issue.
