I asked this on the A6 forum since it pertains to the A6 and haven't gotten any responses. I figure the S4 (or any other current Audi model) will be similar, so I'm asking here as well.

If the glass falls out of the mirror, but is still attached to the wiring harness, do you need to get a new mirror (the whole unit) or can the glass be reset into the housing? The reason I ask this is that one of my coworkers hit an A6 this morning and that is the only damage to the A6.

It is just held in by several clips.

Reread. I don't know how hard since it was a coworker that did it.
