Hey Michael! The BF has a Momo steering wheel on his Coupe quattro that has black Alcantara (it could be real suede?) on the top half. I don't think an Alcantara wheel would hold up. Some parts of his are shiny-looking, and other parts sort of look nappy...and he hardly ever drives that Audi. I could take pics for you if you were interested.
I'm sort of **** retentive when it comes to "grooming" my Alcantara and the thought of a steering wheel made of it give me shivers just thinking of the upkeep. Just my $.02...![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
P.S. I'm sure it could look nice with your Special-Sauce Shifter **** tho!!

I am VERY **** about having clean hands before driving. It has held up better than the rs4 alcantara **** that went on at the same time (sort of an experitment to test the longevity of the wheel vs ****). The feel can vary from day to day. Some days the alcantara feels tighter and other days it feels very loose and soft. Really really like this mod, not just for the feel but how the interior looks so much better than the stock airbag cover and the shiny leather wheel. As for being thicker I want to say yes but if it is it isn't by much. I'll measure it and my old one later and update this post. Hope that helps.

I think I have been shamed away from the ****...This was the only one I could find that didn't make me gag (see..just about everything reverts back to Pat's description...it was so spot on that I just can't handle it). Every time I grab the **** (there it is again..) I'll think of his comments...not good.

Anyway...I probably should have done more research on RS4 wheel before buying one. I have loved the look for years and finally just pulled the trigger. It's something I can probably flip for a profit so no big deal.
I'm just a "AR" as you when it comes to the interior. I do have the stock ****, the boot and the shift surround covered in Alcantara..and the **** is holding up top notch! On for about two years. So maybe I will be lucky.
So Morgan, how happy are you? I called my brother at half-time and the crowd at his house was going nuts!! You folks take your football seriously... although not as serious as you do college ball!!
I'll save you the effort on the pics, thanks anyway. I made the first lead for the wheel..now I'll have to find an airbag to work. Worse case is I'll unload (bad word given the shift **** issue) it on AudiZine...

Where did you get the Airbag? I searched every inch of the archives and found very little on the bag.
My stock **** is covered in Alcan and it has held up very well.
I have been lusting after the RS4 wheel literally for years and finally pulled the trigger on what I have always written of as a frivolous mod. I finally gave in.

I've already put a gazillion dollars into this car so whats a few more bucks
As for the airbag you can go a few different routes:
1. If your really lucky you'll be able to find one used in the States.
2. Get one sent over from Europe. Shipping is very expensive though.
3. Pony up and buy one from the dealer. You'll get peace of mind that it is a new bag and "should" work if you had a collision. I found that new oem bags prices varied from the 700's up to 1000.
My bag is a 2002 a4 sport bag. It fits up with no problems and hopefully I'll never have to test that it works in an accident but since the harness fits right up to it there is no real alarm that it should not perform as intended. Also, the b5 rs4 had basically the same exact bag as the 2002 a4 so that made me feel a little better. Anyway, my advice would be to scour heaven and earth for a used one as long as the shipping is reasonable. If not you can always go the dealer $$ route. Hope this helps!
