I love the V1. Most will say, if you have the $$$, go with the V1

Default V1 - www.valentine1.com. Don't let anyone tell you that the arrows are not that big of a deal. (m)

they save me all the time.

Or how many cops are in the speed trap & where they may be. Love the arrows & the bogey counter

Default Yes, but the newer V1 in much thinner than the old...

looks identical but is only 1" thick. It is probably 1/4 thinner at least. Beyond that though, the case looks identical.

Default Do some research and you'll come up with 8500, ask others

and you will likely get the scale tipped on the V1. Can't really go wrong.

BTW, I have the 8500 and live in Cincinnati where BOTH units are made.....

Default Nothing else gives you number of radar sources, direction, and the highest threat. V1 is the best,

IMHO.

Default Whoops! Ted needs to do a little research! 8500 does all of the above but the arrows, + each sources

band and individual signal strenght is displayed!

Have the V1 and the 8500. Bought another 8500 for my most recent car (well, VW Eurovan).

Does that tell you my opinion?

Misrepresenting facts is not OK with me, but expressing opinins is!

Both are good, but you know where I stand.

Just upgraded old V1 for new model V1. Much smaller, more sensitive. Go for it.

Default 8500 has been an awesome detector!!!

Very few false alarms
Superior K, Ka Range
Picked by 4 independent reviews over V1
Weighs less then 10 pounds :-)
