Default not loud at all, unless you compare it to the little stock "toot-er" whisshhh whissssssh LOL!
Borla sounds pretty good.

What are the best clamps to use? Band clamps?

Default Sounds agressive yet not obtrusive and is supplied with good clamps....
put it on myself and just needs a little tweaking to make it perfect. I love my Borla.
