People with 17x8.5 wheels, and lowered suspension... rubbing?
I'm planning on getting the SSR Competition wheels on my car, probably a 235/45 or 235/40 tire (although someone suggested 245/40 is the right size for a 8.5 inch wheel???)
Anyway, the car is stock height right now. I had MTM springs on my old car, and the body roll is driving me nuts on the new car. I'm going to wait until I've got a few thousand miles before I change the suspension, but I'm worried that none of the reasonably priced suspension choices will work with wheels that big... specifically I was looking at the Intrax, but I think it drops the car too much for that size wheel?
Any info is appreciated from people who have run wheels that wide on their car.

Its kicking ***! I'm loving every minute of it!
I'm a little suspicious that I may have the beginnings of a problem with 3rd, but it may just be the new tranny being really notchy.
Short shifter is a must, but I don't want to do it until the 3rd gear engagement settles down a bit.
I'm really missing the MTM springs though, I feel like I'm driving a boat now.

No, but I measured the 25" that aparently the Intrax drops you to this morning...
It looks just about what the MTM springs did, probably a fingers gap between wheel and tire.
Its low. I'm still debating if I want to go Intrax if its as low as the MTM springs were. I might wait on the group buy (as good of a deal as it is) and see what they end up like on your car. (You were getting them too, right?)
I could also test-fit the SSR's on someone's car to see about fitment and get the intrax during the summer if I decide thats what I want to do.

It's 25.25 actualy. Anyway, what kind of tires are you getting to put on those
ugly a** wheels? Different makers have different rolling diameters and widths so what fits with one may not fit with another.

That's really tall & wide (respectively) for the stock wheel wells. I assume you're not planning on
rolling your fenders right? If you want to run 245s in Boston your probably need to stick with the stock suspension and get 38 offset rims. 235/40 is your best bet and won't be a problem with the Intrax. I'm going to run 235/40/18s.
As for the wheels, I guess it comes down to personal preference. My CHs are coming next week then sitting in the garage for a few months as I wear out the Blowtenzas.
