Hi,
I'll check again, but I found that there is no way my Phatbox fits into the CD changer space, that is, without taking a hacksaw to it and cutting off part of the two setions of aluminum frame from the PB. If I turn it sideways I can slide it in, however then it sticks out of the bin and one can't close the cover to the changer compartment, nor can they insert/remove the DMS cartridge.
If you look at Jonah's install pix, (https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1255425.phtml), his PB is wider than the CD slot. Just to clarify, he inserts the PB into the upper space, and the upper space on my car holds the jack kit. My PB looks like it might actually be a little wider than his model, so if his doesn't fit in the CD changer bin, mine will never fit unmodified.
If I take out my jack kit, it will slide into that part of the compartment with plenty of room to spare.
I'd imagine that if it fit into the CD changer compartment they would not have to offer a surface mount bracket kit, and the instructions that shipped with my unit specifically and only shows a surface mount installation.
I'll check again though... it would be ideal if I could get this into the changer space![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thanks, and regards,
Abdul

Hi,
I'm curious as to how you got your Phatbox to fit in the CD changer bay. Does your Phatbox unit look like the one in this pic:

Sorry, it's a bad pic, but it was easy to find. This pic is the unit I have and it just doesn't fit (gonna check one more time later today). It's not that I am a dumb-a$$ either (well, my girlfriend might say otherwise, lol). I'm definitely a serious wrench who is capable of FAR more challanging things than getting a PB installed.
Thanks,
Abdul
