a-Pillar gauge Install Question....(not custom!)
I have a single a-pillar pod that i am installing my boost gauge in...(not the kind in tanner's install) and had 1 little question....do you guys think i will need to remove my entire a-pillar and drill a hole in it to run the vac. line? Would it be possible just to fish the wire down behind the dash? or lastly...can i just put a small hole in the a pillar and fish the line down the pillar isteslf into the footwell....would there be any airbag issues, as far as accidentally setting it off....ouch....
i know there are tons of posts...i've searched....but i really need an a-pillar install with a mechanical gauge...and with an a-pillar pod (like the one AWE sells).. rather then the custom ones.....thanks a million guys

you could remove the pillar and drill a small hole, it will work fine just if you ever decide
to get rid of the pod, your going to have a hole in it. there won't be any airbag issues with the wires as all as the bag actually stops about 6-8" down the pillar. the bottom is actually just wires behind it.

I would look for an alternate way to run the line/wires.
That way you don't have to tear up the stock, upholstered a-pillar. However, if you do choose to go this way, remove the pillar before doing any drilling. Also find a decent rubber grommet that will fit the line snug and fill the hole you drill. That will finish it off nice.

No need to drill anything for an A-pillar install. Just fish the vac hose and elec wire...
down behind the dash. Vac goes out through the existing hole in the firewall to the engine bay and elec goes right to the circuit board area.
