Default Plug'N'Play switchable relay, just plug it in, mount the switch, done.

I was unable to retrive any usable pics. from my dead digital camera(damn it!). But all is not lost. I pulled the "relay" and scanned it in. The 605 is a pain in the butt to get open so, sorry no internal pics. Also I talked to Dano (part of the excellent service team at Avantage Audi in Houston TX.)he is going to see if they have an old/nonoperative relay that I can use to get some fresh pics. so I can pass on what I know about the internals of this "relay", if you have seen the inside of the 605 you will know what I am talking about (its no wonder it costs so much)
If Dano is unable to find me a relay, is anybody willing to ship me their relay for a few days? If so, e-mail me at quattro0001@hotmail.com and we will work something out. This web site has been a great help for me over the past two years, I don't mind returning the courtesy.
Thanks,
MB :^)

Please excuse my ignorance, but what are you using the relay for?

Default my cudos man, that is REALLY COOL! (m)

What are the steps for installing this? is it difficult/expensive? I would LOVE to have a "dimmer switch" to adjust the sensitivity of the steering, is this possible? Thanks

Default Ummm, how exactly will this help? (Honest question)

The S4's steering is pretty heavy as it is. Would you increase power steering boost for local/city driving (less effort) and set it back to normal for aggressive driving?

The S4 steering's problem is the lack of feel, not too much/too little assist. I don't think adjusting the power steering boost will improve feel (it would take a new-and-improved steering rack to do that).

Default some feel that the steering is over boosted, this allows for a heavier sporty feel

this allow for the boost to be tailored to drivers (the wife usally won't go for a heavy steering feel and also things like parking in tight spots is easier when the servotronic is active, if you drive the car over I think its 90mph you will notice that the steering automatically changes to a heavier sport feel. This unit allows you to determine when you want the "sport" feel. :^)

Default Hmmm, I've never noticed a "tightening" of the steering at high speeds...

if anything, it feels lighter (to me anyway). I guess I'll pay a little more attention next time and see.

Default damn that wire is long

are you putting the switch in the trunk? jk

i've always wondered why we couldn't pull the 605 like in the a6 tech article. makes sense that we can. good work!
