Default you want to get it in the doors

under the rear passenger seat (exhaust drone), under the trunk carpet and in the wheel well, under the trunk lid carpet. And, if you want to go hardcore, on the floorpans.

Search the archives, there is a ton of info on where to put this stuff.

Seems like a good benefit. I'll look into it.

Default seems like a good time for an introduction!

Hey guys, my name is sean, I am good friends of Angular and joz00 on this forum... i currently drive a 2.0T xflow scirocco, but after joz and I spent 8 months doing custom bodywork and knowing that its just not going to last, I've decided AWD is the next step in the evolution - so im looking into a 10v audi 90 quattro and put a big-*** turbo on that biotch.. but we'll see what happens. Anyway the reason I am posting is that oddly enough I am a co-owner of a sound dampening company up here in seattle.. its called MadMat. I'll give you the quick rundown:
> MadMat is an aluminum-constrained, visco-elastic polymer; this means as far "build" we are similar compounds to dynamat extreme, b-quiet extreme, etc. However we have a couple key differences:
>With sound dampening it all comes down to density... guys will say their mat is "thicker" and better, but the thickness of the material really has no influence on the quality of the sound dampening capabilities. Instead, thicker material is often more difficult to use, and its less pliable and will crack if folded back over tight corners. You wont find this with MadMat - our dampener is approx. 1-1.5mm thick, yet its .48-.5 lbs/sqft - which puts its above everyone else on the market.
>MadMat is/was the first on the market to offer 100% lifetime warrently on the adhesion.. our mat will not come off! after the 25min setup time I hope you have it where you want it, because our ahesion is substantially better then other mats on the market.
>MadMat also has the highest temperature ratings, and maintains efficiency thru 400F, therefore making it suitable for engine-bay applications, and its good all the way down to -60F.
>We were also the first dampener to require zero-preparation. No heat guns, no rollers, just wipe away any oil slicks and peel & stick.
>Another big concern with especially the latest trend in aluminum-constrained dampeners is pliability over time. A friend of mine bought a scirocco that had some stereo work done to it, and it turns out the car was one of our early customers, however it had been to a few other shops in the area and had both dynamat extreme and MadMat in the car.. after about 1 year MadMat was still pliable and "soft", while the dynamat was hard, cracked, and beginning to loose adhesion.
>although we are relatively new, we have been getting some decent attention because of our product, and currently we are being featured as the official sound dampener for West Coast Customs - the shop responsible for the MTV show "pimp my ride" (not a huge fan of the show, but hey its press, right?). We are also backed by Alumapro, and they are beginning to include our product in all of their new component speaker kits.

So sorry for the extended email, I hope I dont come off as a salesman, but I've been into VW/Audis way longer than I have been involved in the sound dampening industry - so its been exciting to combine work and play alittle bit - we sponsored the sound quality competition at Dubwars04 this year and look forward to participating in more VW/Audi shows - since unlike all the other sound dampening companies out there we are not as interested in the bottom line as we are interested in building relationships and really pusing the "human touch" element. It seems so many companies are pretty much faceless and just sit behind their online orders and collect $$. I want to reach out to our customers and let them know we're all in the same boat! So anyway, long story short, we're here, I'm really impressed with our product, and so far all the competition vehicles we've participated in are kicking some serious ***.

Needless to say, as a fellow VW/audi guy I am bias toward this market - and i'd have no problem cutting everybody a "audiworld member's discout"... as far as price, no we arent as cheap as brown-bread or some of these new-comers.. but I think the quality of the product will speak for itself, and as audi people, I know you feel me when I say "you get what you pay for." Street price for our product is about the same as dynamat xtreme, but for everybody on the list I'll offer the following: our Bulk-kit contains 60sq ft in either polished aluminum or black, enough to do your whole car, trunk, etc for $249.

for more info check out our website (i designed it so feedback would be greatly appreciated!) at www.madmat.net

feel free to contact me with any questions: sean@madmat.net

thanks for taking the time to listen to me, I cant wait to move up in the world to a quattro =)
