Poll: If you had a 2000 S4 with 200k miles on it, would you go STG 3 when the original K03's fail?

You Should SELL yours and BUY mine.. 00 STGIII with 85K miles for a good price..
If I was in the market for a used S4, I would only pick up a STGIII. People will tell you that you can get it all done for around $10K but its a lot more than that. I've spent around $20K in upgrades on my car and its still not 100% complete. In order for you to save money you have to do tons of DIY.
This is a unique car with great capabilities. I went STGIII on a very healthy ko3 car. I didn't wait till something broke, but after driving it at stgIII for almost two years I have a taste for something different. It is not going to be easy for me to sell this car as it has become part of my identity. All of my clients know me by my BLUE AUDI. It's been a fun long run and it's time to move on.
I would not spent the money on a car with 200K to go full stgIII as other parts have also taken a beating during those miles. I would sell yours and buy another with lower miles or buy one which is already stgIII.
Check out my ride if interested:

I am all most at....more
150k and being stage 2+ I am planning on going to stage III one day---probably be around the 200K marker. As long as you have taken care of the motor properly---oil changes-TB stuff, I know you would be fine..

its your choice, your money...
economically speaking i think it would be a waste... but most of the things we do for our cars are a waste in terms of money...
if you cant find a replacement and plan on keeping it go for it... but if its your daily driver and stgiii and 200k mi idk pretty tricky...
good luck with your decision.

Even buying a new motor and going stage 3 would be cheaper then anything else out there right now
on the flip side, the S4 will continue to depreciate and the newer cars will continue to get more spendy. However, if the S4 changes it's status, then it's resale value will stop depreciating and start apreciating and then your not as bad off.
I modified mine because it's a keeper, nothing else can come close for the cost of X upgrades as wel as x maintenenace, but then my 6 year old car only has 47-50K miles on her

one would care about depreciation if expecting to sell anytime soon.
If CMS4 put money into a car that would provide transportation (and probably much enjoyment) for years to come, then it's money well spent. If he wants a car that doesn't depreciate then he shouldn't buy a car at all, but a house. Every time I have to fix this or that little thing on my 175K mile S4, I wonder what a suitable replacement would be. But then I see the price of suitable cars and I realize I'm pretty happy with this depreciating money pit.

we have guys pushing their motors at 600+ hp and you are worried about YOUR components?
What do you think is going to break that wouldn't break anyway? The turbos aren't going to cause anything to break that wouldn't break eventually.
