Default Unless he outright abused the clutch...

(and you didn't mention any form of abuse, so I'll assume he didn't), no. It sounds like normal wear and tear. Perhaps you would have gotten another month out of the clutch before it showed signs of wear, but regardless, it's your car, you maintain it.

Default I once beat the **** out of a friends car ~ 20k he blames me for it

You're taking it too personally for something that didnt even happen to you.

And for the record, I've almost always picked up the tab when I go out with my friends. But financial situations can change. I hope if your's ever changes people would be more understanding instead of making assumptions.
