Default Popping noise coming from right side of car under heavy turning at slow speed

I replaced my CAs and put the Vogtlands on in July any everything was great. Now that it is getting colder I am getting this noise sometimes just 1 pop sometimes 2 when I am backing out of my driveway and have the wheel all the way left.

My first thought is the top bolt on the coilovers not being tight enough. I didn't have an open end socket wrench so I did the vice grips trick. Going to try to tighten that up better this weekend and maybe loosen and re-torque the CAs while I am in there.

I know these are always tough. Doesn't seem to happen at speed. Any thoughts?

Default Could be your CV joint going bad...

But check that bolt first. If you don't have the right tools you shouldn't be installing suspension. That's not something you want to "shortcut".

good luck

Default Dude - you did that work w/o socket wrenches? You have some serious attachments, IMO. Minimalist

with regards to tools, wouldn't you say? C/O's or CV joint would be my guess. Invest in a socket set and tighten everything up 1st, will ya? ;^P

Default i think he's talking about top nut. i use a gear wrench socket that you can put a allen key

through. they also make sockets that have a window on the side, similar to a deep O2 socket.

Default Lol no dude i didn't do it without socket wrenches. I torqued everything to spec with sockets

except for the top nut on the COs. I used spring compressors and got it what I thought was tight but you need to use an allen wrench to hold the shaft while you tighten the nut. For this i couldn't use the torque wrench (shaft would spin with the nut) so I held the socket with vice grips. This is why I think it might be the weak link.

I am def a minimalist but I at least have a good set of sockets and torque wrenches
