Is it possible to retrofit radio controls into the steering wheel?

It would probably be easier to just get yourself a steering wheel with the proper controls in it already, and retrofit that into your car. Some other things will be required. Some folks on navplus.us have done it.

...but the switches in a tip wheel are momentary contact, so you'd probably have to change them out anyway. IMHO, you'd be better off with an A6 wheel or similar, that has the right switches and electronics, especially since you'd have to get a new airbag if you went with a tiptronic wheel anyway.
