Default Well, the turbo was certainly on it's way out, I think maybe the tbb made the situation worse . . .

If I understand correctly the sound is actually created by the compressor hitting the housing . . . dunno really . . .

wheel hitting the housing is a much worse sound than typical dentist drill

Default Fun stuff isnt it...K04 time for many of us now (more)

This is the 3rd set of K03's that are going on my car even with warm ups and cool downs. However this set lasted the longest by far. K04s should be much better when all the work gets done.

Default no way to prove it really....

but i say it's just the extra vibration in the wheel from bearing and thrust part wear. 95% of the time with blown K03's i don't see the compressor wheel hitting the housing. Also, many have a fin missing on the turbine wheel which i think will make noise when spinning at 150K+ rpm.

That's what I was thinking, no witnesses at the scene. Bushing/shaft oscillation . . . ?
