Default Potenza SO-3 tire sizing for stock rims

I need new tires and am interested in the Bridgestone Potenza SO-3's. What are the largest, beefiest sized tires I can get without compromising handling and the rims themselves? Everything is stock on my car.
My dealership referred me to my owner's manual!!

Default well, good question...

... as I just returned my new SO3 235/45/17 in favor of 235/40/17 as the 45 were mushy.

I've the BBS RC 17x8 which are .5" wider than the stock Avus wheels.

The SO3 are a very good choice.

Read Don P article "plus zero tire upgrade" on the tech forum.

Default 225/45/17

235 will be too wide for the stock 7.5 rim.
I have the 225 and love it!
btw, the S03 is wider than other tires in the same size.

Default I agree, stock size S03s are the way to go, gives good rim protection too

Default Ditto

The S03's are wider than the P6000's, by about a centimeter.

Check my pictureposter account for a few pictures.

Default Oettingers... they're pretty expensive.

I think it's like $250 for the set... and that's the 3 pedals. You can get a dead pedal for more.

I like them -- I moved the brake to the right by about 5 mm and the gas sits on top of the existing pedal, so they're about 8 cm closer, so heel and toe is easier.

Momo and others make them, but mine look the best (others may be slightly more functional because they're a larger gas pedal).

Great idea with having the break closer to the gas.

I did the same with the gas sitting on top of the pedal (I've Sparcos and I turned both the brake and clutch upside down).
