I think you guys need to stop acting like we're trying to say ProDiag > Vag-Com. Fact is that people have been asking for a handheld version for years and Shadetree stepped in and filled that void. Not everyone wants to lug a laptop around in their car to to logging or diagnostics. I'll even come out and say that there are some things that Vag-Com can due better (mostly due to the larger screen of the laptop and larger storage capacity for logging) but 98% of the time the ProDiag does everything we need and more. I own both products and use ProDiag for everything we do here at the shop. Vag-Com is our backup, incase someone else is using the ProDiag or my palm batteries die
Vag-Com is a great product and I've never said otherwise, I'm just spoiled after using the smaller form factor that when I use Vag-Com I'm a bit overwhelmed with the laptop's akwardness during test/diagnostic drives. Most prodiag users load the progam onto an older palm device (available on ebay for as low as $25) and keep it in the glove box.

I agree that Palms are much more compact than laptops, and have said repeatedly that if someone wants to do VW diagnostics on their Palm, by all means get the Shadetree product. But, it is important for purchasers to know what they are giving up by choosing that product instead of VAG-COM.
