by slick i mean, not a proclip mounted on the center console witha wire sticking out. maybe something stockish looking or hidden away somewhere...any pics?
a good example is stealth s4's mini ipod install in teh ashtray, i'm assuminga regular one would also fit once the tray is removed...
any others?

I like my setup of icelink with the wire routed near the passengers feet, and I use the Belkin
tunedok in my cupholder. The cable hides and the tunedok can be removed instantly for no sign of any extra wires or semi-permanent clips on the console. I went this route after storing it in the ashtray for a while. The tunedok makes it MUCH easier to navigate the ipod while driving. Dirt cheap too!

http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=3950476</a

Well, nominally yes. But there are several problems with that setup:
1) It responds very slowly to button pushes
2) It doesn't show any artist or album info on the display
3) With nearly 35 gigs of music, there is no practical way to choose what you want from the headunit.
I think what it is intended to do is navigate up to 6 playlists. Those 6 playlists can be chosen with buttons 1-6 on your headunit, you can skip tracks or ff/rw with the headunit's buttons. And the random button works too. If you listen only to playlists, it'll work ok. I like to be able to listen to anything at anytime though, and the ipod already has a great navigation interface for navigating a large library.
