I need to raise my 2001 S4 back up a bit. The rear's were easy enough. It's impossible to turn the front spring perches in the up direction. The end of the spring coil bites into the perch so you can't turn it. The damn spring tries to unwind!
Any suggestions short of complete disassembly? I do have the correct spanner that came with the suspension. I did back off the lock nut. The car is off the ground and the wheel off. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
aa

just use a flat head screw driver to pry down the end of the spring when it got caught, worked like a charm, and if you're careful the only damage that will be done to the perch is from the spring itself (which from your post, has already happened)

I use a spring compressor to compress the spring and take some of the tension off the perch. Then you can turn the perch without trying to fight the spring tension.

The standard KONI Coilovers do not include this. This is exactly what separates the Stasis line from the KONI product.
