Re: Might also be due to a crappy install. There's nothing wrong with Craig's shifter.
I was referring to the part that connects the steering wheel to the shifter, the one that moves the shifter ;-)

Change your tranny oil.
I had the same thing, and was about to pay the piper for new synchro's, but I changed to Amsoil tranny oil, and the grind is gone! At least in my case.
A cheap fix before paying the big bucks for a tranny repair, hope it works.
