Anybody know what the proper offset for 17 or 18" wheels for an S4? How wide can i go? I'm sure someone has posted this before but i can't find it here or in the tire section.

Default Guess what? My stock AVUS by Ronal is marked 'ET45', too! Thanks for...

the correction. For those that care to verify, it's molded into the outside of the wheel, under the hub center cap.

ET35 is the 'standard' aftermarket wheel offset, with 8-8.5" wide replacement wheels.

Thanks, Craig!

Default Thanks, Corey! (Question for Corey S. or Steve S. inside)

I corrected it lower in this link about 2 hours ago, but forgot to change it here. I just edited it to show the correct ET45 stock wheel offset!

You or Steve wouldn't happen to know what width and offset the Champion SV S4 is running with the RS4 flares, would you?

Default They are running 18 x 9's...

...but I'm not sure of the offset. I would guess an offset of 25 - 30mm or so.

They were running 245/40/18's, but now are allowed to run 265/35/18's.

Default In your opinion, what offset would work with ....

17x9.5 wheels. I was thinking that ET20 would be right, for the RS4 panels and 255/40x17 Pilot Sports. (add 2" in width, subtract ~24mm offset)

Does that sound right?

Default Well...

You could start with what I know works under the stock S4 fenders. Sharon and I are running 18 x 8.5 ET38.1mm wheels with 255/35/18's, and they are about as far into the car as you can go without rubbing the suspension bits. They also required pretty aggressive rolling of the fenders as well.

Based on that, I would say that 17 x 9.5 wheel should have an offset no higher than 38.1 - 12.7 = 25.4mm. And given that the RS4 fender provide about an inch more room (so I've heard), that works out pretty well. In conclusion, I would probably run between 23 and 25mm offset with the sizes you specified.

Good luck.
