Popped down to my local Batteries Plus intending to pick up an Odyssey 925 since my stock battery took a dump. Figure I'd spend a little bit more to save the 20 pounds. Fine. Turns out they don't have a 925 but they can order it, yadda, yadda, yadda. That is pointless since they require 25% down and it takes a week. I could order it online CHEAPER and have it quicker. So I'm casing the joint looking for an alternative and a little battery by Werker (their store brand AFAIK) designed to fit into the factory location on Miatas. It is an AGM battery (dry cell) and has 320 CCA rather than the Odyssey's 360. Cool thing is the price, $79.95 instead of the $139.95 they ask for the Odyssey with terminals. Had the guy put it on a scale and it was just shy of 25 pounds, just like the 925. Took it home, removed the stocker and popped it in. Fits great using a generic tie down and 8" J-hooks. Retained the stock battery tray BTW. The breather hose even fit right on. Sweet. The Batteries Plus website is useless, so I have no link. Sorry. Highly advise anyone looking at an Odyssey to consider this as a cheaper alternative, as long as you think the CCAs will get it done for you.
