Default Buy / Build a pressure tester. VAG the car.

Tough to say.

Do you hear any odd sounds?

Default Stop punching it! If it's a boost leak you'll blow your turbos in no time!

As reefer said, pressure test, or if you can't do that, at least take off the TBB and inspect it...

Default Hmmm, well thats where mine normally is....

I have been chipped for a while, always been around 220-230, 240 on auto-x days

Definitely check for boost leaks. at least check the "common problems" I recently had a stuttering, only boosting to 5 and then suffocation, got home, checked for leaks and the TBB got blown clear off the TB!! anyway, check the common problem spots for tears, get together with someone with a VAG, and pressure test the system.

Default Probably limp mode. Find someone with VAG-COM to diagnose your car.

And as suggested below, pressure testing the intake would also be a good idea.

Limp mode. No check engine light? Look closely at TBB
