Default Oops, i meant castrol 5w-40. But no reason for the change other than reading

people say that m1 blew their turbos. Also the castrol seems more readily available in my area. I honestly think that people who switch oil and have turbos blow just had a bad coincidence of timing. But i dont know.

Default you're better off with 5w40 instead of M1 0w40, imo. Also, Castrol has a new line of Edge oils that

have passed for VW 502/505 ratings.

I'd like to see some Blackstone results.

I've been using M1 5w40 TDT since I stocked up on it when Pepboys had a coupon for buy 1, get 1 free when the coupon was probably supposed to be printed buy 3, get 1 or something like that. I got everything they had in stock. Now, I do those ~$30 buy 5-qts + filter deals and give them back the filter for $5 off, which has always been M1. but, if the Castrol is on sale this time, I want to try the Castrol Edge 0w40 or 5w40....or maybe just use the Syntec 5w50. ::shrugs::

the M1 0w40 just thins out to a 30 weight and should really only be used in cold climates, imo, when there are better oils out there for summer/track/stage 3 applications, etc. that run hotter.
