Just need new inlet pipes for K04 Motorsports; nothing else changes.

Default It's actually a real K04 with a few modifications (ie K03 sized inlet) but the turbo is a K04

it is not a modified K03

Default actually you're both incorrect

It's a KO hosing, the inlet is not what determines
whether it's a KO3, KO4 or KO6

It has very little to do with the size of the turbo, there is a lot more to KKK turbo's

than what you see from the outside

Doh! ~(8(|) I thought I got it right that time... I'll just let you do the talking from now on I guess I was under the impression that the Abt K04 is a custom made K04 made specifically for Abt by KKK and that the only difference between it and the RS4 K04 is the inlet size? One of these days I'll get this all figured out

Why don't you just post a pic of one side by side to a stock turbo, issue resolved then

So wtf is it? No wonder you need to go over it weekly - I have yet to see the explanation

Yeah, no kidding. We keep getting told what it's not, and if we're told what it is, it's vague. =)

Default They are KO4' s (NOT, repeat NOT KO3's)

they are custom made for ABT and only they can order them..so part #'s are irrelevant

Neither ABT NOR AMS, modifies turbo's from they're original condition.

The KKK tag says KO4 right on it, ABT gmbh has not authorized us to release the part #'s

maybe because, they don't want everyone and they're brother
harassing KKK dealers looking to order a custom built product, that they paid for.

In fact: it is very expensive, to order a custom turbo from the KKK FACTORY
(not a KKK or Garret or IHI dealer, cutting something open and modifying it
which is the implication of calling them KO3 sports or KO3/KO4 hybrids)

You need to commit to a minimum order in the THOUSANDS of units (which is obviously very expensive), before the manufacturer will even speak with you

by placing an order of that size, you get a custom turbo, built to your specs from the start, not reworked or modified

when Quattro gmbh, commissioned 20,000 units for the RS4, that makes them less expensive

but it does NOT, mean that they are the optimum size for this (S4), application

(the RS4 has different intake, heads, IC's ..etc)

the ABT turbo's are not built in those kinds of volume and as such cost more.

the ABT KO4 strikes the best balance
of low-end AND top-end response and power delivery
they spool up before 3000 RPM and adds 50HP over a chipped S4, without any extra lag..RS4's do add top end power, but introduce additional turbo lag

360PS kit dyno chart

Default "the ABT KO4 strikes the best balance" ... compared to what?

Are you comparing this to a stock K03, a K04 MS, a Garrett GT25?

And obviously you are biased, but I think claiming that the ABT K04 is the best is pure marketing when you offer no comparitive information.

Of course, a dyno graph of K04 MS vs. ABT K04s on the same S4 on the same dyno the same day with the same ambient temps would offer substantial proof, but somehow i'm betting that dyno graph will never exist.

Not bagging on ABT K04s, i'm just saying that I wish the tuners would stop pushing their product without data to back it up. And I'm referring to quantifiable data, not the ever popular S4 butt-dyno.

I would gladly take 1/4 mile slips in place of dyno runs, but none of those appear either.

You're not the only tuner guilty of this, so don't take this as a hit against you or ABT or AMS. I just wish you guys would test your products and offer comparitive, reliable information.

Default best balance between the stock S4 KO3 and the RS4 KO4

and I gave you a dyno chart of the ABT KO4, compared to the stock KO3's

why is this so complicated?

has ANYONE else, even given you guys a real dyno run,
of what the RS4 KO4 actually DOES in the S4

and not just an estimate?
