Let me start by saying that I STFA and came up with leaky valve cover gaskets as a possible problem. I just bought the car (a 2002 with 39K miles) from an Infiniti dealership. It appears as if they changed the oil as there was a sticker on the windshield from them. When I check the oil, it looks like there is WAY too much in there. It goes all the way up the marker on the dipstick. I plan on changing the oil this weekend to synthetic anyway so my question is...
Can too much oil can generate a burning oil smell in the cabin?
All help is appreciated.

and the fumes are being sucked in through your ventilation system.I have the same problem, hard to actually see oil leakage on the stick.i think i maybe lost a 1/2 quart over 5k miles. solution would be to do all the seal in the area, cam tenioner, cam seals ,valve cover gaskets.of course these are all X 2.since you have 2 heads.
