Its for my sisters cabrio. she lost her key and needs to replace it. I searched other sites but the answers are nothing like the ones from this forum. I have vagcom. can she just buy a key on ebay and i can program it? what about the laser cutting? i need some help here please before the dealer gets to her!

help with is the acutal cutting of the key to work. is this a dealer only thing? or do locksmiths have the laser cutting tools? i understand the part after i have the key cut to get it to work the doors and stuff. Thanks

I got mine cut for 9 bucks at a key shop.

Also, for those asking about "laser cutting" - is not a laser, but more like a "milling machine". I found a locksmith that can do it, cheaper than the dealer but STILL feels like they could at least have kissed me first! OTOH, This machine CAN'T POSSIBLY be cheap, & he has to pay for it, so... HTH SOMEONE...
