Question: How can one calculate an estimated ET for a 1/8 or 1/4 mile using hp and weight?

Just surfing the web, and I notice there are a lot of programs out there that can estimate
quarter/eighth mile times when you enter
weight and hp.. or vice versa, trap speed and weight -> hp..
not sure what the exact equation is.. just wondering if people know..
