Default Questions about those Griot's Garage wheel hangers.

First of all, which length to get?

<a href="http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?L1=L1_3000&L2=L2_3010&SKU=92300">13 3/4 inch</a>

<a href="http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?L1=L1_3000&L2=L2_3010&SKU=92302">23 1/2 inch</a>

Second, the pictures show the wheels being stored facing the wall, which I would think may expose them to some scratches. However, reversing them would place the weight of the wheel farther out on the hanger. Anyway, how are you doing it - facing the wall or facing outward?

Last, you're using two hangers for two wheels, and then stacking two more wheels on top (above), correct? These things are expensive at $20-25 each, and I have two sets of wheels to store. I'd hate to buy 8 of them if I can get away with only buying 4 instead.

Thanks!

Default if you went the route of the wheel face against the wall, you could get away with the 14" hanger..

and just place a piece of cardboard between both wheels and your wall or some of that foam cushion wrap. You could also go face to face on the 14" hanger as well vs going both faces out on the 24"

Default if you are challenged for space protruding from the wall..

these work.

Home Depot for about $2.00 each. They have a nice black rubber coating to prevent scratching, come in various sizes. the ones i use are about 8" long and have a beefy 3/8" diameter screw in end that i've tapped into the wall studs with. they aren't budging...even with the big heavy "pig" s4 rims hanging on them

i use for my extra set of rims and for my 30' extension ladder.

Default I have 4 of the shorter ones. One wheel per hanger. Wheel facing outward.

Here is a picture from my picture poster:

Thanks. $160 for 8 wheels is a bit steep. I think I'll try TRM's idea.
