Default Questions for those of you who have shipped rims and tires (M)

I sold my rims and tires and will be shipping them tomorrow afternoon.

I have the cardboard and foam "circles" that I saved from when Edge shipped me the rims.

My question is:

Where can I get the hard plastic straps to go around the rims and cardboard?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Default Are you shipping just the rims? or tires too. If you are shipping tires and rims, ...

just put the cardboard securely on both sides and take the heck out of it.....if you are shipping just the rims, get some boxes.

Default I just shipped a set of rims....I used the cardboards circles like you...

described - what I then did was wrap them with that really thick saran wrap stuff - like movers use to wrap around furniture when moving. It sticks to itself....you just wrap and wrap until the enitre wheel is covered - it hold the cardboard on well.

Then, I used packing tape to make sure the edges of the plastic stuff did not get pulled up....the FedEx lady said that is how most people wrap the wheels.

You can get the thick plastic stuff from Mail Boxes Etc. or any shipping place.

It's called shrink wrap and is commonly used for wrapping merchandise on pallets in retail/grocery
